You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Legacy Charter Eagles's strategy against the Apopka Christian Academy Lions on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Legacy Charter blew Apopka Christian Academy out of the water with a 66-20 final score. Legacy Charter pushed the score to 54-18 by the end of the third, a deficit Apopka Christian Academy had no chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Mallory Daniels, who almost dropped a double-double on 38 points and nine steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Legacy Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Kraus, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Legacy Charter and bumps their season record up to 5-10. As for Apopka Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Legacy Charter won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Santa Fe Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Santa Fe Catholic comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Apopka Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
