The West Carrollton Pirates suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fairborn by a score of 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairborn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taiyou Williams, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Townsend, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
West Carrollton's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-8. As for Fairborn, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Carrollton will take on Piqua at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairborn, they will head out on the road to square off against Butler at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Butler has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
