The Stillwater Pioneers will head out on the road to take on the Southmoore SaberCats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Stillwater had to suffer through a rough 69-42 loss at the hands of Bixby. While losing is never fun, Stillwater can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Bixby is ranked 30th).
Meanwhile, Southmoore's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Broken Arrow, falling 78-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southmoore has scored all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Stillwater and nudges their season record down to 7-14. As for Southmoore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Stillwater against Southmoore in their previous matchup last Monday as the squad secured a 64-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stillwater since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
