Even though the Winchester Community Golden Falcons scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the Yorktown Tigers still came out on top. Yorktown strolled past Winchester Community with points to spare, taking the game 76-58. Given Yorktown's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Winchester Community is ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Yorktown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Moulton out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moulton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rowray, who scored 14 points.
Yorktown has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Winchester Community, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yorktown will take on New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Palestine has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 771 points over their last 11 games. As for Winchester Community, they will play host again and welcome Tri, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tri is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
