Softball Recap: Vacaville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Vacaville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Inderkum on Friday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Tigers. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Paige Witte was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Kyne, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.

Vacaville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .743. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Inderkum only posted an OBP of .471.

The win (which was Vacaville's fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Inderkum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vacaville will head out to take on Granite Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Inderkum, they will take on Rio Americano at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
