In what's become a running theme this season, the Point Arena Pirates gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 87-25 victory over Anderson Valley at home. Winning may never get old, but Point Arena sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Point Arena's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Derek Billy, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Billy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Fernando Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Point Arena has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Anderson Valley, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Arena will challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Round Valley is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Pirates a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Anderson Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laytonville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
