Softball Recap: Desert Ridge Has No Trouble Against West Point

Desert Ridge came out on top against West Point on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Dragons. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Novi Muffo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Halle Davis was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Aleeya Barwick also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Desert Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 13-4 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Desert Ridge and bumps their season record up to 18-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for West Point, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Desert Ridge has already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Shadow Ridge on the 30th. West Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
