The Brimfield Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Brimfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] will be up against a hot Brimfield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Indians' way against Havana on Saturday as they made off with an 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Sawyer Drury and Schyer Meinders made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Drury kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Meinders tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Drury has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. At the plate, Drury went 3-for-4 with two triples and two runs, while Meinders went 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits Drury has posted over her last 12 games.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Brimfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
