Madison Southern barely beat Russell County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Lakers with a sharp 11-1 victory on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Back at the plate, Trace Halstead and Griffin Back did most of the damage at the plate: Halstead went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Back went 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Halstead has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Lester, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Wayne County typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Corbin proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Cardinals 12-5. Considering the Redhounds have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Carson Taylor looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Trey Person was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Bret Estep also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Madison Southern's record now sits at 15-12. As for Corbin, their record is now 14-11.
Madison Southern might still be hurting after the 14-5 defeat they got from Corbin in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
