The Pelham Pythons will venture away from home to take on the Milford Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Pelham nor Souhegan made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Pythons blew past the Sabers 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Pythons, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Caileigh Aguiar was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Pelham let Sophia Forristall and Aubrin Berger run wild. Forristall got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one run, while Berger got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave Berger a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Smith, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.
Meanwhile, Milford hadn't done well against Hollis-Brookline recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Cavaliers. With that win, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Ari Wales was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Teagan Goldstein was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Pelham and bumps their season record up to 4-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Milford, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.
Pelham might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Milford in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Pythons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
