The Red Bud Musketeers will challenge the Steeleville Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Red Bud had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Dupo on Tuesday. The Musketeers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 16-2 win. The Musketeers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 14 runs or more this season.
Tyson Bohnert and Blake Henry were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Bohnert struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Henry didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Bohnert has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Bohnert scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-5, while Henry scored a run while going 1-for-5. Bohnert also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Derrick Whelan was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jack Roscow was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Red Bud kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Steeleville earned a 6-3 victory over Johnston City on Tuesday.
Canon Ruby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Cale Newby was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Ingles, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Red Bud's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Steeleville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Steeleville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Red Bud hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. It's a different story for Steeleville, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Red Bud's hitters?
Red Bud was able to grind out a solid victory over Steeleville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Musketeers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
