St. Joseph Regional added to the longest winning streak in Big North - United this week by beating Wayne Hills, 35-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
St. Joseph Regional took down the Patriots 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Spencer Aukamp threw for 153 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 14 yards in the win.
Zach Bednarczyk was a passing and rushing force as DePaul defeated Pascack Valley. He completed 8 passes for 115 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 58 yards. Bednarczyk's key target this week was Kiy Hester, who caught 3 passes for 98 yards.
Aukamp and Sherman Alston gave Tony Karcich's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Teammate Conrad Fitzpatrick added to the ground attack by rushing for 31 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Paramus Catholic's Steve Shanley and Najee Clayton have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Shanley has thrown for 829 yards this season, while Clayton has 22 catches for 327 yards. Corey Russo from Bergen Catholic leads the league in rushing with 449 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Crusaders and the Spartans. Bergen Catholic enters the contest ranked sixth in the state, while DePaul ranks fourth.
The Green Knights led Big North - United in scoring this week by notching 35 points on Wayne Hills. Aukamp ran for 14 yards during the win.
