After flying high against the Madera South Stallions last Tuesday, the McLane Highlanders came back down to earth. McLane fell to Roosevelt 66-61. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McLane in their matchups with Roosevelt: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why McLane lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Pamanes. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pamanes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cedric Hughes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Roosevelt was led to victory by Cobi Posas and Skylarr Redwood. Posas scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks, while Redwood scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Redwood also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. James Miller was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
McLane's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. As for Roosevelt, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-10.
McLane will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Hoover at 6:30 p.m. Hoover has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 689 points over their last nine games. As for Roosevelt, they will head out on the road to challenge Fresno at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fresno is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
