The Mount Everett Regional Eagles will take on the Drury Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Everett Regional is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Mount Everett Regional came up short against Lenox Memorial and fell 5-2.
Mount Everett Regional saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Kinna, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Trevor Leonard also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Drury waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Millionaires with a sharp 12-2 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Lucas Rylander made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Drury got a massive performance out of Colby Malloy, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Julian Faliciano was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Drury always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lenox Memorial only posted an OBP of .346.
Drury pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Mount Everett Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mount Everett Regional hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Drury struggles in that department as they've averaged .377. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
