The Aniak Halfbreeds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were the victim of a rough 37-16 loss at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. Aniak was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Non Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2017.
Despite the defeat, Aniak had strong showings from Maddison Steeves, who scored seven points, and Sierra Lang, who scored eight points.
Aniak's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Non Varsity Opponent, their victory bumped their record up to 83-136.
Aniak won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Non Varsity Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to challenge Northern Virginia HomeSchool at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
