A Season-Best Performance from Brandon Figueroa Leads Irvine over Canyon
Irvine was led to victory by Brandon Figueroa, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Figueroa rushed for 335 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 18.6 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 94 yards.
Canyon's probably not too fond of Figueroa given he always seems to get the better of them. When Figueroa last faced the Comanches back in August of 2023, he rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns.

Sadly, Olin Morales Hyder posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Sonora over El Toro on Friday. Morales Hyder rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards.
Sonora now has a losing record at 3-4. Morales Hyder and Sonora will host Santa Ana at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Jack Mckelvy's Big Game Leads El Toro over Sonora
Jack Mckelvy posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
For the season, Mckelvy has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 193.7 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 58.71 passing yards per game.

Rudy Alcala Delivers Best Effort of Season
