Mammoth was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in Desert Mountain. Earlier in the week, the Huskies defeated Rosamond 40-8.
Silver Valley moved up to 761 from 872 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Trojans were able to make move up by defeating Hamilton 36-0.
Evan Martinez put up the best numbers through the air as Silver Valley bested the Bobcats. He finished with a total of 15 completions for 273 yards and 4 touchdowns. Martinez's favorite target this week was Dante Fields, who caught 3 passes for 66 yards.
Chad Gleason was the best receiver in the league this week as Desert topped Vasquez. Gleason racked up 3 receptions for 108 yards.
Logan Lukenbill was the best running back in Desert Mountain this week. He ran for 198 yards on 21 carries as the Scorpions bested the Mustangs. Teammate Matthew Moore added to the ground attack by rushing for 33 yards.
Domenick Day made the biggest impact on defense this week as Desert beat Vasquez. He.
5-foot-9 quarterback Martinez of John Stewart's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 418. He has also thrown 6 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Gleason. The Desert star has 8 catches for 209 yards.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Scorpions' Gleason goes up against the Trojans' Bailey Rettmann.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Desert takes on Silver Valley. The Scorpions are currently in fifth, while the Trojans are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Desert and Silver Valley face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Scorpions comes in having scored 53 this season, while the Trojans have scored 78. Desert scored 40 points last week as it bested Tim Jorgensen's team.
Boron fell to Antelope Valley 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. D.J. Payne was a bright spot for the Bobcats, as he ran for 105 yards in the defeat.
