The Chrisman Cardinals's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Chrisman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Even though Chrisman has not done well against the Tigers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Chrisman came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 56-45. The victory was just what Chrisman needed coming off of a 74-33 loss in their prior matchup.
Gavin McCord and Triston Lehmkuhl were among the main playmakers for Chrisman as the former scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals and the latter scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Chris Francis was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine ended up a good deal behind the Bluestreaks on Saturday and lost 55-41.
Chrisman's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Chrisman beat the 66-56 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Chrisman repeat their success, or do the have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
