The Leslie Blackhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Springport Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Leslie gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-26 win over Laingsburg.
Meanwhile, Springport had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by Bellevue on the road to the tune of 64-16. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-11.
Maddux Locke was a one-man wrecking crew for Springport as she dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 steals. Another player making a difference was Rylee Siefert, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Leslie's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Springport, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Leslie couldn't quite finish off Springport in their previous matchup back in March and fell 38-36. Can Leslie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
