The Telfair County Trojans had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 44-31 to Hawkinsville on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Telfair County in their matchups with Hawkinsville: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Passion Clay, who scored 12 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zamariah Evans, who scored three points along with eight rebounds.
Telfair County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Hawkinsville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Telfair County will take on Houston County in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at. As for Hawkinsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
