The Belle Chasse Cardinals lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Slidell, falling 80-47. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Jaden Hookfin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Slidell, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Bartee, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Belle Chasse's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Slidell, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belle Chasse will take on Lutcher at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Slidell, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Bourgeois at 6:10 p.m. on January 20th. Bourgeois will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
