The Cedarville Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Miami Trace Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cedarville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Miami Trace's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Cedarville is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering West Liberty-Salem just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 12-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since March 31st.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Miami Trace challenged McClain on Wednesday. The Panthers walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Tigers. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Gage Bowers was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other pitching news, Miami Trace got a great performance from Cody McMillan as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. McMillan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Austin T Brown was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brody McBee, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Miami Trace kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McClain only managed nine.
Miami Trace's record is now 13-4-1. As for Cedarville, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
Cedarville might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from Miami Trace in their previous meeting back in April of 2017. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
