On Wednesday, Caprock Academy had to settle for second even though Tristin Bird put up the best numbers he has all season. Bird dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, good enough to set a new career-high in points in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played.

Bird and Caprock Academy will head out on the road to take on Ouray at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
