After a string of four wins, the Casteel Colts's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 41-19 walloping at the hands of Williams Field. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Casteel has scored all season.
Casteel's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Lewis, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Keeli Duncan, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Casteel's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Williams Field, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casteel's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mountain Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Mountain Pointe is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Williams Field, Williams Field and Casa Grande will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Casa Grande has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14.
