Hayfield has gone a perfect 7-0 against Lewis recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hawks will look to defend their home field against the Lancers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hayfield has seven straight victories, Lewis has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Hayfield needed a bit of extra time to put away Mount Vernon. They won by a run and slipped past the Majors 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since April 16th.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Tourne, who earned two runs and three stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jacob Bueno was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Lewis couldn't beat Justice on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Lancers lost 12-6 to the Wolves.
Lewis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Moore, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Reynaldo Linares, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Hayfield pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lewis, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
Lewis' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hayfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. It's a different story for Lewis, though, as they've only averaged .193. Will they be able to contain Hayfield's hitters?
Everything went Hayfield's way against Lewis in their previous meeting back in April, as Hayfield made off with an 11-0 victory. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
