Bishop Kelly has gone 8-2 against Skyview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Skyview will be up against a hot Bishop Kelly team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Knights blew past Emmett 17-1 on Thursday.
Allie Warren and Lauren Fettic made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Warren tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Fettic struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. At bat, Warren went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Fettic went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles Fettic has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Olivia Watt and Julia Baerlocher did most of the damage at the plate: Watt went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Baerlocher went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Watt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Cammann, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Bishop Kelly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Skyview got the win against Caldwell on Thursday by a conclusive 10-1. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.
Makenna Shamy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Makayla Lytle, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Lily Bittinger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Bishop Kelly pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Skyview, their record is now 8-13.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Bishop Kelly hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.3 home runs per game. However, it's not like Skyview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Bishop Kelly's way against Skyview when the teams last played last Thursday, as Bishop Kelly made off with a 10-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
