Softball Recap: Calaveras' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Calaveras's victory against Summerville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Calaveras won by a run and slipped past Summerville 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Red Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Kamryn Thornburg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Calaveras' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kendra Baechler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Baechler's first of the season.

Calaveras' record is now 3-1. As for Summerville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Calaveras will square off against rival Riverbank at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Summerville is set to face off against their familiar foe Linden at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
