Rocky River has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Elyria Catholic Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Rocky River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
Rocky River has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 26 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 47-21 margin over Normandy. Given Rocky River's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Normandy is ranked 531st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ava Patti, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Dewey, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Elyria Catholic beat Bay 52-41 on Saturday.
Rocky River's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Elyria Catholic, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Rocky River came up short against Elyria Catholic in their previous matchup back in February, falling 61-55.
