Kinkaid unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell  49-44 to the Gunter Tigers on Thursday. While the Falcons had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Tigers  14-7.
 Ross Wynne threw for 136 yards and a pair of  TDs.   Alexander Donnelly was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards and one  touchdown.  On the ground,  Wayne Shanks, Jr. rushed for 80 yards and one  score on only nine carries.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kinkaid will take on Regents at 7:00  p.m.  on September 5. As for Gunter, they will face off against Richland at 7:00  p.m.  on September 5.
