The Ponca City Wildcats can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bartlesville and snuck past 46-44. The win was just what Ponca City needed coming off of a 72-47 defeat in their prior matchup.
Ponca City was led to victory by AJ Landes and Tay Moore. Landes scored ten points along with five assists, while Moore dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Ponca City's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16. As for Bartlesville, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ponca City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Choctaw at 8:00 a.m. on February 9th. Ponca City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Choctaw is ranked 15th). As for Bartlesville, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Edmond Memorial at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th.
