Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tahir Kaplan, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds. Kaplan scored a full 28.6% of Rivermont Collegiate's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Soulaymane El Jerari, who scored 6 points.
Rivermont Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hillcrest Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rivermont Collegiate will take on East Moline Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillcrest Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lone Tree at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Iowa (Lone Tree is ranked 25th, while Hillcrest Academy is ranked 46th).
