Baseball Recap: Christian Academy of Knoxville Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Christian Academy of Knoxville barely beat Lakeway Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors blew past the Lions 10-2 on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Brody Waller made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Wyatt Jones was incredible, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Trimble, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Christian Academy of Knoxville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeway Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .130.

Christian Academy of Knoxville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeway Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-10.

Looking ahead, Christian Academy of Knoxville will venture away from home to square off against Davidson Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeway Christian Academy, they will host Gibbs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
