Fairland is 0-9 against Raceland since April of 2018 but things could change on Saturday. The Dragons will challenge the Rams at 11:00 a.m. The last three games Fairland has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Friday, Fairland didn't have quite enough to beat Russell and fell 3-2.

Josh Gillespie put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tanner Brown and Cyrus Cummings did some serious damage despite the final result: Brown got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run, while Cummings got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. That triple was Brown's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Raceland is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Huntington. The Rams walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Highlanders. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Brigham Davidson tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Lynd, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Preston Coldiron, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Raceland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.
Fairland's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Raceland, their record now sits at 24-4.
Fairland suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Raceland in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
