Baseball Recap: Glenbrook South Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Glenbrook South had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Saint Viator Lions by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Titans, who suffered an 8-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Roger Niedermaier looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Xander Kourvetaris was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Trey Ryno, who scored a run and stole a base.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenbrook South will host Mundelein at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saint Viator, they will challenge Lake Forest at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
