The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (California Lutheran has four straight wins, La Sierra Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
California Lutheran put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 63-43 margin over United Christian Academy. The score was close at the half, but California Lutheran pulled away in the second half with 38 points.
Ethan Ash was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Vogel, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-29, which was the final score in La Sierra Academy's tilt against Sherman Indian on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points La Sierra Academy has scored all season.
California Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for La Sierra Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Everything came up roses for California Lutheran against La Sierra Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 74-19 victory.
