After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Western, the Leslie Blackhawks were happy to have found some success on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 46-33 win over Stockbridge. This was payback for Leslie, who suffered a 57-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Stockbridge still got an impressive performance from Alaina Kellenberger, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Kellenberger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracee Robidou, who scored 11 points.
Leslie has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Stockbridge, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leslie will square off against Vandercook Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Vandercook Lake comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Stockbridge is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Fowlerville at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
