The Blount Leopards pushed their score all the way to 67 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Williamson by a score of 69-67. Blount was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Williamson apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Blount lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaiden Beck, who scored 26 points along with seven assists and four steals. The match was Beck's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Andrew Williams was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists and five steals.
Blount's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Williamson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blount will take on Rain at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Blount is ranked 115th). Williamson is on the road again on Friday and play against Leroy at 4:30 p.m. on December 15th.
