The Tarkio Indians are on the road again on Monday and plays the Worth County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Tarkio scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down DeKalb 69-53.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Worth County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Holt. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (57), Worth County still had to take the loss.
Despite the defeat, Worth County got a solid performance out of Tyler New, who scored 31 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. New has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Sanders, who scored 14 points.
Tarkio pushed their record up to 6-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Worth County, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-3.
