Arrowhead Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Hernandez also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Leah Rubio was another key contributor, dropping a triple-double on 11 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals.
Jones-Gordon's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Arrowhead Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jones-Gordon will take on Thunderbird Adventist Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Arizona (Jones-Gordon is ranked 135th, while Thunderbird Adventist Academy is ranked 156th). As for Arrowhead Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Sonoran Science Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Sonoran Science Academy: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Arrowhead Christian Academy has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
