Softball Recap: Altamont Has No Trouble Against Nokomis

Altamont was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Nokomis on Friday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Redskins. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Sophia Long spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

Altamont's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Nokomis, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Altamont will venture away from home to challenge Brownstown/St. Elmo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Nokomis, they will head out to take on Riverton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
