The Brewer Bears will head out on the road to take on the Granbury Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Brewer strolled past Azle with points to spare, taking the game 56-39. Given Brewer's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Azle is ranked 1170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brewer's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bj Clark, who scored ten points along with four steals. Clark hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Tyren Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Aledo scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, Granbury still came out on top. Granbury took their matchup against Aledo 70-63.
Brewer has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Granbury, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
Brewer didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Granbury in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. Does Brewer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Granbury turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
