Elk Grove struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Oak Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 71-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The losing side was boosted by Kaleb Edwards, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Mchenry, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Elk Grove's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Oak Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Elk Grove hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51.9 points per game. It's a different story for Oak Ridge, though, as they've been averaging only 64.6 points per game. The only thing between Elk Grove and another offensive beatdown is Oak Ridge.
