The Box Elder Bees struggled with threes on Friday (the Green Canyon Wolves had 1100% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Box Elder had to suffer through a rough 65-38 loss at the hands of Green Canyon. Box Elder lost against Green Canyon in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 74-55 score last time.
Box Elder's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamri Andersen, who scored 8 points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Godfrey, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
It was another big night for Marissa Best, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assists for Green Canyon. Janalynn Blotter was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Box Elder's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Green Canyon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Box Elder will head out on the road to face off against Syracuse at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Syracuse will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Green Canyon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. Morgan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Green Canyon is ranked 17th).
