The Horeb Christian Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 76-56 walloping at the hands of Calusa Prep. While losing is never fun, Horeb Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 781st, while Calusa Prep is ranked 381st).
Horeb Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonathan Gonzalez, who scored 17 points, and Jeremiah Wilson who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ifeanyi Ezeala, who scored nine points.
Horeb Christian's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Calusa Prep, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-10.
Horeb Christian will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Doctors Charter at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. As for Calusa Prep, they will be playing at home against ABF Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Calusa Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 376 points over their last five contests.
