Wallace-Rose Hill is 2-8 against East Duplin since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the East Duplin Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Wallace-Rose Hill: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while East Duplin has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road.
Last Friday, Wallace-Rose Hill came up short against Kinston and fell 50-42. Wallace-Rose Hill has not had much luck with Kinston recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, East Duplin put the finishing touches on their 16th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-11 victory over South Lenoir on the road. Given East Duplin's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while South Lenoir is ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Duplin found their leader in underclassman Kinsey Cave, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine assists. Cave also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakoya Farrior, who scored 15 points.
Wallace-Rose Hill has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for East Duplin, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
Wallace-Rose Hill was taken down by East Duplin 59-16 when the teams last played back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wallace-Rose Hill was down 39-11.
