The Academy for Urban Scholars Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Hubbard 78-48.
Leading Hubbard to victory were Gavin Rybicki and Caden Candor. Rybicki scored 14 points along with two blocks, while Candor scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Candor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kyle Barr, who scored nine points.
Academy for Urban Scholars dropped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hubbard, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy for Urban Scholars is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Academy for Urban Scholars is facing Brookfield at the right time seeing as Brookfield is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hubbard, they will head out on the road to square off against Mathews at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (Hubbard is ranked 557th, while Mathews is ranked 581st).
