It was a good run, but the George Walton Academy Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 47-38 to Oglethorpe County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points George Walton Academy has scored all season.
George Walton Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mark (mj) Marable, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marable has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Logan Blalock, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
George Walton Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Oglethorpe County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
George Walton Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mt. Bethel Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully George Walton Academy likes a good challenge. Oglethorpe County will be home for the holidays to greet Hart County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hart County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
