The Marshall Rams will be playing at home against the United Longhorns at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Marshall struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (Brandeis had 2300% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Marshall suffered a tough 73-53 loss at the hands of Brandeis. While losing is never fun, Marshall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 887th, while Brandeis is ranked 354th).
Marshall's loss came about despite a quality game from Aric Goodman, who scored 23 points. Goodman scored a full 43.4% of Marshall's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Powell, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, even though Jefferson scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, United still came out on top. United put the hurt on Jefferson with a sharp 75-55 victory.
Marshall has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for United, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season.
Marshall came out on top in a nail-biter against United in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, sneaking past 66-64. Does Marshall have another victory up their sleeve, or will United turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
