The Burlingame Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Sequoia Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Sequoia will be up against a hot Burlingame squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. The Panthers never let Menlo-Atherton get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kiley Lyons was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Arce, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kendall Gorshen, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
Burlingame hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sequoia made easy work of Notre Dame on Wednesday and carried off a 17-11 victory.
Sequoia let Nisha Mehta and Jamie Elkington run wild. Mehta fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4, while Elkington fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 4-for-5. Those six RBI gave Mehta a new career-high. Charlie Siegler also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Burlingame's record is now 14-8. As for Sequoia, their record now sits at 6-12.
Sequoia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Burlingame has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Sequoia, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Burlingame's sizable advantage in that area, the Ravens will need to find a way to close that gap.
Burlingame got the 'W' when the teams last played on Friday against Sequoia by a conclusive 14-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
