After losing to Russellville the last time they met, Trigg County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Trigg County blew past Russellville 45-16. Trigg County were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Trigg County's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 22 points in the first half. Russellville came up with 8 to make it 22-8 heading into the break. The Trigg County defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest. The game brought them to 3-2 and dropped Russellville to a mirror-image 2-3.
Trigg County will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Fort Campbell. Fort Campbell had less luck in their last match and are out to reverse Trigg County's good fortune. As for Russellville, they will face off against Murray.
